Indigo Headquarters

Desai Chia Architecture partnered with X-Design to amalgamate the offices of Indigo Books & Music Inc. and create the new headquarters of in the heart of the Fashion District of Toronto. As the world’s first cultural department store, Indigo required commitment to design excellence and detailed supervision from start to finish to support the highly creative group. Team huddle rooms, meeting rooms, extensive storage, pantries, central café, dark room and store simulator comprised the newly constructed 75,000 square foot space spread across four floors. Lighting design, acoustic treatment, AV and IT were carefully coordinated with the overall design to ensure a well-orchestrated space.

Active and regular collaboration with the Indigo and overall project teams enabled careful attention to detail and ensured modifications were integrated seamlessly into the ongoing evolution of the project. These dynamic partnerships allowed for cross-pollination of ideas, quick problem solving and continuous refinement to create a space together that reflected the Indigo philosophy.
