Williamsburg Uptown Seniors Living

We worked with Sean Hourigan, former Vice President of Reichmann’s Seniors Housing, and his brother Kelly Hourigan, to design an elegant, upscale retirement residence in the heart of Uptown Burlington that had a hotel-like atmosphere. The resulting interior environment helped them achieve their objective to redefine the standard of excellence in the marketplace with grace and style.

We were responsible for the design and planning of all resident common areas including concept development, preparation of all common area millwork and design details, reflected ceiling plans, decorative light fixture selections, the selection and specification of all interior finish materials and colours, furniture, furnishings including signage, artwork, window coverings and accessories as well as commissioning activities related to furniture delivery and installation coordination, review and payment authorization.

Outstanding Result: Where the industry target is to achieve full occupancy in two years, the Williamsburg was 70 percent full in nine months and attracted higher than expected numbers of couples and younger move-ins, both of which have a positive bottom line impact in the short and long term. In addition, The Williamsburg was recently purchased by Revera and is being marketed as their flagship Residence—a very successful outcome for the Hourigan’s. Due to the success of this project, the Hourigan’s have retained us to design their new Edgewater Senior Living residence in Halton Hills, Ontario. The project received an ARIDO Award of Merit in 2015.
